AbstractAbout the AuthorsReferences
Lower Cretaceous deposits of the Pokur suite in Western Siberia are one of the main gas production objects in Russia. Productive intervals of the Pokur suite are represented by thin interbedding of sandstones, siltstones and clays. The identified reservoirs are characterized by heterogeneous properties. These factors significantly complicate the forecast of reservoir distribution over the area and cross-section of the field. At present, refinement of facies models is an urgent task for increasing the accuracy of reservoir rock forecasting, optimization and increasing the efficiency of gas field development. In this regard, it is important to perform a reliable correlation of productive zones and determine their facies confinement of sediments. This work is based on a comprehensive analysis of well logging data, statistical analysis and data visualization methods. Facies modeling of terrigenous deposits of the Pokur suite was performed using Python coding. Well logging data and lithological description of rocks for 7 wells were used for modeling. This study included a review of Python libraries, automated preliminary processing of geological and geophysical information, development of a comprehensive set of visualization methods for graphic representation of lithological data, and description of the stages of dividing lithotypes into facies zones. The results obtained may improve the efficiency of facies typification of terrigenous deposits, which will further allow more reliable prediction of petrophysical properties of rocks.
