AbstractAbout the AuthorReferences
The article considers theoretical and methodological aspects of interaction of cartographic and geoinformation support in conditions of demand for spatial data to solve applied problems of geological exploration, nature management and other spheres of scientific and production activities. The basis of the research is the domestic experience of cartographic and geoinformation support, considered on the basis of dissertations published in 2001-2022 on scientific specialities “Cartography”, “Geoinformatics” and others. The current terminological problems in assigning the results of work to one of the types of support, aggravated by the expansion of the range of digital cartographic products created with the help of GIS and web technologies, are revealed. The following approaches to interaction are identified and characterised: independent, map-centered, geoinformation-centered, symbiotic, information-centered. Each approach is assessed in terms of its potential to overcome current terminological problems and to further modernise the theoretical and methodological foundations of cartographic support. The potential of the symbiotic approach to scientifically justify the assignment of digital cartographic products to one of the support types and to bring existing ideas about the system of cartographic support into line with objective reality is determined. The importance of solving these problems for the further development of cartography and geoinformatics in the conditions of rapid interest in methods of artificial intelligence and data science is noted.
