AbstractAbout the AuthorsReferences
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are a widely used tool in various fields, including geological and geophysical problem-solving. With the development of specialized domestic GIS like INTEGRO GIS and the abundance of projects created in general-purpose GIS (ArcMap/QGIS), the issues of project import and compatibility between different GIS platforms have become highly relevant, especially in the context of transitioning to domestic software. This article presents a comprehensive approach to transferring projects between different GIS and addressing compatibility issues between the most common foreign and open-source systems (ArcMap and QGIS) and the Russian-developed INTEGRO GIS. The focus is on developing a universal XML-based exchange format that preserves not only the geometry of spatial data but also the entire project structure, including styling, layer grouping, and visualization parameters. Technical solutions for implementing import/export converters are presented, along with a detailed analysis of encountered challenges and their resolutions. Of particular importance is the demonstration of the practical applicability of the proposed method for import substitution in the geoinformation domain.
