AbstractAbout the AuthorsReferences
The article discusses the technology for the formation of a cartographic database on objects involved in the field of waste management (sources of waste and recyclables, enterprises processing them, and facilities for the disposal of production and consumption waste). Basic information resources on such objects are analyzed, requirements for the database structure and description of technological stages of its formation are given. The proposed technology was successfully tested as a part of the development of a prototype of a geographical information system for waste and secondary resources management, implemented on the example of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, as well as during the creation of a geoportal of the Geographical Information Systems Department of Dubna State University, which provides geo-information support for the educational and research activities of the Institute for System Analysis and Management for the purpose of cartographic databases development and maintenance.
